We are currently in the final testing phases of our new Universal Output Driver board.
This is, essentially, an Arduino shield with a socket for a standard Arduino Nano. It provides 32 outputs of optoisolated, MOSFET switches which can provide 2 Amps per channel.
Though originally designed to accept a MIDI input and drive pipe organ solenoids, the ‘universal’ nature of the board enables virtually any type of serial input to be used, including RS-232, RS-485, ModBus, as well as most other industry standard control interfaces. The interface can be changed by simply swapping out a small card on the option pinheader.

The optoisolated outputs are designed to perform flawlessly even in situations where high electrical noise and sudden electromagnetic pulses are present.
The boards can operate in ‘master’ mode, where a microcontroller is fitted, or in ‘slave’ mode, where up to four boards can be daisy chained together to provide 128 individual outputs.

So far, all our tests have been a great success and we are hoping to be offering these boards for sale in the Autumn of 2023.
